Terms of Use

By installing or using MergeGuard, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MergeGuard. Installing or using the Service means you accept these Terms.

2. Service Description

MergeGuard is a GitHub App that evaluates pull requests and enforces repository review policies by interacting with GitHub's APIs. The Service operates within GitHub's permission and security model and does not bypass branch protection rules.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the organization where MergeGuard is installed.

4. Account and Access

Access to the Service is granted through GitHub App installation. You are responsible for managing installation permissions and access rights within GitHub.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Certain features require a paid subscription.

  • Billing is handled through third-party payment processors such as Stripe.
  • Fees, billing cycles, and trial terms are defined at the time of subscription.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in violation of applicable laws.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
  • Attempt unauthorized access.

7. Intellectual Property

MergeGuard and its underlying software, logic, and documentation are the exclusive property of Chaincode Tecnologia Ltda. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chaincode Tecnologia Ltda is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if:

  • These Terms are violated.
  • Required fees are unpaid.
  • Continued operation poses legal or security risks.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any disputes shall be resolved in Brazilian courts.
